OHS AND EMERGENCY

MANAGEMENT FIELD OFFICER

An exciting opportunity exists for a motivated individual to join the People & Resilience Branch in the newly created role of OHS and Emergency Management Field Officer.

The primary responsibilities of the position are to monitor and provide expert advice and training across Wannon Water to ensure correct and efficient use of the Occupational Health & Safety system, as well as the Emergency Management system.

While some experience in either OHS or Emergency Management field will be required, the successful applicant may not have formal qualifications to support this experience. If this is the case, don’t worry, full training and support will be provided for the right applicant.

We invite positive “can do” people who:

  • have an understanding and passion in applying the principles of OH&S and / or Emergency management     
  • are passionate about developing people and improving their safety
  • have strong communication skills that can enable and educate employees within a diverse workforce

This position can be located in Warrnambool, Hamilton or Portland and depending on experience and qualifications, offers a salary in the range of $63,487 to $80,548 plus 9.5% superannuation. Flexible working arrangements to meet family commitments can also be considered. A commuter use vehicle and all the necessary PPE are provided and the commencement date for the successful applicant can be negotiated.

TREATMENT OPERATIONS OFFICER

An exciting opportunity exists for an individual with an interest in the water industry for a full-time position.

1 x position in our Eastern Region (Camperdown, Terang and surrounds)

1 x position in our Western Region (Portland)

The successful applicant will be a member of the Eastern Treatment Operations team and will be required to undertake activities to assist in the management of water quality and to operate and maintain the water and sewerage treatment systems of Wannon Water. The successful applicant will be required to participate in a rostered after hours on-call system after a qualifying period.

Experience, qualifications and knowledge in relevant water and sewerage treatment technology, processes and procedures are desirable, along with personal qualities of reliability, self-motivation, customer focus and a positive attitude. Applicants who have completed tertiary studies (or an equivalent trade qualification) in science or engineering would find this role interesting and challenging together with an opportunity to commence a career in the water industry.

This position has a salary range of $58,419 to $63,236 p.a. plus 9.5% superannuation.

CIVIL MAINTENANCE OPERATOR 

An exciting opportunity exists for an individual with an interest in the water industry for a full time position based in Warrnambool. In this position, you will perform civil maintenance activities supporting the efficient operations of Wannon Water’s water and wastewater network assets.

Applicants will need to demonstrate the following qualities:

  • Are highly motivated and enthusiastic
  • Able to work under limited supervision
  • Possess proficient oral and communication skills
  • Work effectively in a team environment
  • Are sensitive to customer’s needs
  • Proficient with work management systems and other applications

A background in plumbing, construction or other related disciplines, would be highly regarded but not essential. The successful applicant will be required to participate in a rostered after hours on-call system after a qualifying period and work towards the attainment of Certificate III in Water Industry Operations.

This position has a salary range of $51,569 to $57,619 p.a plus 9.5% superannuation depending on qualifications and experience.

Hours for this position are Monday to Friday 7.30am to 4.00pm with a 30-minute meal break.  Flexibility in working hours may be considered for the successful applicant.

ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER 

Wannon Water is seeking applications from experienced and enthusiastic individuals for the temporary (until August 2021) full-time or part-time position of Administrative Officer. The successful applicant will join our Assets Department based in Warrnambool.

The primary responsibilities of the position are to provide administrative support to the Assets Department in terms of preparing reports and contract documents, responding to internal and external inquires and collating and coordinating Assets Department procedures and documentation.

Applicants will need to demonstrate that they:

  • Are proficient with Windows based computer applications.      
  • Are highly motivated and enthusiastic.
  • Can work effectively in a team environment.
  • Possess good communication skills.

This position has a salary range of $56,647 to $61,463 (Band 4) p.a. pro rata plus 9.5% superannuation depending on experience, skills and qualifications. 

Please clearly outline your preference for either full-time or part-time (minimum 62.5 hours per fortnight) in your application letter. Flexibility in working hours may be considered for the successful applicant
