FAQs - Water tower open days

Are there minimum age requirements to attend?

Yes - the minimum age is 5 years. Children aged 5 to 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Do I need to be fit?

Each tower has an internal staircase with a handrail. There are 154 steps to the top. Participants must be fit and physically active.

What do I wear?

Please wear comfortable clothing and non-slip, closed-toe shoes. A coat may be advisable as it can get cooler at the top.

Where do I park?

East Warrnambool - Angle parking spaces are available at Tower Square opposite the tower.

What can I bring into the event?

No backpacks or handbags are permitted for security and safety reasons. However, small cameras and mobile phones are allowed. 

How long can I stay at the top?

Sessions will take place in 30-minute blocks for groups of up to 15 people. This includes time to climb up and down the tower. Wannon Water employees will be on hand to lead each group and provide an outline of how the towers work and point out some of the district landmarks visible at the top.

What if the sessions are booked out?

Keep an eye on our website and our Facebook page. If the Open Days are fully booked, we may organise additional sessions later in the year. 

What if there are strong winds, heavy rain or storms?

The event may be cancelled at short notice. In adverse weather, please check our website or Facebook page or call us on 1300 926 666.
