East Warrnambool Water Tower Open Day - 13 April 2018
Following the success of the water tower open days last year, Wannon Water opened the East Warrnambool Water tower to the public on Friday, 13 April 2018.
Over 200 participants climbed the internal staircase with 154 steps to a viewing platform at the top. From here, they enjoyed panoramic views of the city, along the Hopkins River to the ocean and across the countryside as far as Mount Warrnambool.
The tour informed participants on the important role water towers play in providing water to the community as well as the opportunity to ask questions.
A huge thank you to the Warrnambool Camera Club members who kindly volunteered their time to take photos on the day.
Thanks to everyone who booked a tour. People who missed out can keep an eye out for future events by "liking" or "following" our Facebook page here.

Thanks for helping us to celebrate National Water Week 2017
More than 240 people took the opportunity to join us at our first ever Open Days held at the East Warrnambool and West Warrnambool water towers.
The days were organised to celebrate National Water Week which this year featured the theme Water – The Heart of our Culture.
Participants took advantage of clear and sunny skies to climb to the top and enjoy panoramic views across the city, countryside and ocean - even as far as Lady Julia Percy Island and the Grampians.
They also learnt about how our water towers help us to provide adequate water pressure to our customers.
Kim and Brett McIntyre and their children, Hannah, Ethan and Jacob enjoyed a cup of water after their climb.
