Steve began at Wannon Water in 2007 after experiences in audit, payroll and business advisory services at a regional accounting firm and as a finance manager in the Victorian thoroughbred racing industry.

A Chartered Accountant, Steve completed a Bachelor of Commerce from Deakin University and has many years of corporate governance experience.

Since 2011 Steve has been Wannon Water’s Chief Financial Officer, holding executive responsibility for financial, economic regulation, people, risk, safety, audit, corporate, legal, strategy, technology and information management functions during that time. His current role as General Manager People and Business Services is focused on financial, people, risk, safety and audit functions, with a strong emphasis on financial, economic regulation and risk.

Steve’s contribution to the community in both professional and voluntary roles is driven by a desire to enhance the region’s prosperity through economic and social value, and via enhanced educational opportunities and outcomes for people and business.

His governance, corporate and financial acumen are attributes that he draws on. He is currently chair of South West TAFE, having been a director since 2017, and is deputy chair of Warrnambool Racing Club, joining the committee in 2009.
