Applications open for the Aboriginal Board Observer Scholarship
Wannon Water is offering an opportunity for an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander community member to join our Board as an observer.
This initiative reflects our commitment to building strong communities, fostering governance and leadership skills within our region.
Over 12-months, the observer will gain valuable experience in good governance, networking, and leadership development.
The program includes:
- Attendance at Board meetings and other optional events .
- A scholarship valued at more than $19,832.
- The option to join the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action’s (DEECA) network of Aboriginal directors and delegates.
- Ongoing support throughout the program.
The observer may contribute insights on topics such as cultural awareness, community engagement, and water management’s connection to cultural values.
We encourage applications from Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people living in or near Victoria.

The scholarship begins on 1 July 2025, with the first Board meeting scheduled for 15 August 2025.
