Wannon Water awards $44,000 in grants for local projects
Sixteen organisations and schools across South West Victoria will receive a total of $44,000 as part of our annual Ripple Effect community grants program.
General Manager Community and Corporate Services, Kellie King this week announced the successful recipients of the program, which is now in its sixth year.
The Ripple Effect grants are awarded in three categories, with up to $5,000 available to community groups, $4,000 for international aid, and a maximum of $1,000 for schools.
The projects needed to address at least one of these crucial areas; health and wellbeing, education, the environment, and regional prosperity. Initiatives and events that actively encouraged inclusive participation and support accessibility were also prioritised.
“This year saw a common theme of lifting up our most vulnerable community members and the judging panel was really consistent in choosing projects that would leave a lasting impact for the greatest number of people,” Ms King said.
Congratulations to all the winners: Bolwarra Primary School, Merri River School, Warrnambool East Primary School, Monivae College, Warrnambool King’s College, Camperdown Community House, Derrinallum Yacht and Power Boat Club, Casterton Memorial Hospital, Fit to Drive Foundation, Heywood’s Men Talk Group, United Way Glenelg, Warrnambool and District Easter Arts Festival, Hamilton & District Pipe Band, Find Your Voice Collective, Meli Community Warrnambool and the Warrnambool Multicultural Association.
